The potential of Chinese investment in new technology projects in Greece was one of the main topics of discussion during a meeting between Mr. Theodoros Pangalos, Vice President of the Greek Government, and Mr. Wang Yang, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China of the province of Canton.

During the meeting, which took place on November 3rd, the two officials discussed the possibility of Chinese investment in the development of the broadband network in Greece through the Operational Programme “Digital Convergence” and the 385,5 million euro programme for Agricultural Development. Furthermore, they discussed Chinese participation to the grand infrastructure project “Fiber to the Home” and the broadening of the Syzefxis network. Furthermore, Mr. Pangalos visited China Southern and met with the President of the air carrier, Si Xianmin, who expressed his company’s interest to connect Greece and southeast China, minimizing travel time and boosting tourism and commercial exchanges between the two countries.
