Acropolis museum ranks 3rd on the list of the 50 best museums in the world

The Sunday Times released the list of the world’s 50 best museums, vibrant contemporary spaces that house small miracles which escaped the ravages of time and culture degenerations. Acropolis Museum ranks third on the list, coming after Smithsonian Museum in Washington, the world’s largest museum and the British Museum in London, dedicated to human history and culture.

'Oedipus Tyrannus' at Beijing's National Centre for Performing Arts

The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing will stage performances of ancient playwright Sophocles' "Oedipus Tyrannus" beginning on April 11, within the framework of the "Made in China" programme at the centre -- the second of three ancient Greek tragedies to be staged in successive years in the Chinese capital, in tandem with the Tibetan epic "King Gesar" (in three parts).
