ATHENS, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The theme of the 2008 Olympics is the driving force behind medical specialists from more than 70 countries gathering in Beijing from Sept. 23 to 26, a senior organizer told Xinhua in an interview here before leaving for the event.
The theme of the Beijing Olympic Games -- "One world, one dream" -- became the main idea of the 19th International Congress of the International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO), its Secretary General, Nicolaos J. Lygidakis said.

The New Acropolis Museum was officially inaugurated on Saturday evening during a ceremony that brought together Greece's political leadership and scores of international dignitaries, boosting hopes that the purpose-built museum's opening will mark the "reverse countdown" for the long-sought return of the Parthenon Marbles. Prof. Dimitris Pantermalis, the director of the new state-of-the-art facility, pointed to numerous mutilated sculptures on display in the third-storey Parthenon Gallery, sculptures whose other half is found at the British Museum in London.

ATHENS, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The galleries of the new Acropolis Museum that houses invaluable finds dating from the 4th Millennium BC to the 5th century AD found on the Sacred Hill of the Acropoliswere officially unveiled here on Saturday.
Dimitros Pantermalis, director of the new museum, told Xinhua that all of the Parthenon Temple sculptures owned by Greece will be displayed on the third floor of the new museum.
