Greece’s Day at the Shanghai 2010 World EXPO is to be celebrated on June 19 in the presence of the Greek Minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping M. Louka Katseli who is heading a large delegation of Greek officials, heads of the country’s major trade, investment and maritime affairs institutions, as well as many Greek entrepreneurs and journalists. The Greek delegation will visit shanghai and Beijing between June 18-23 and will hold important meeting with China’s central and local government leaders and economic institutions.

Upon China’s invitation Greece’s National Archaeological Museum participates in the exhibition organized by the Shanghai Museum at the EXPO Urban Footprints Pavilion titled “Ideal City of the West”. The exhibition theme focuses on the role of urban centers, from antiquity until today, as political and cultural centers. China has chosen to present cultural facets of the development of the city of Athens; thus Greece participates in yet another major cultural event in the context of the Shanghai EXPO 2010.

"Philosophy as an art of Living" is the thematic title of Greece’s participation in the European Presidency’s Exhibition in Shanghai on May 31, at the EU Pavilion within the Shanghai World EXPO. The exhibition underscores the influence of European ideas and practices over the development of world culture.
